possibly 16th century, wooden grip handle, steel pontil, oversized figural guard, pointed blade, maker's mark on blade of Antoine Stantler, 66 in.; with a letter from Peter Dale, LTD. of London stating that the sword dates to circa 1590 and most recently hung in the stately home of Loseley House in Guilford, U.K.

insect holes to handle, pitting to surface, one spandrel missing off guard, two nail holes used for affixing blades to wall for mounting have been filled in
