dated 7 Jun 1751, a hand-written document in German and signed by George III, announcing the appointment of Philip Ludwell to the Council of Virginia, George III was King of Great Britain and Ireland from 1760 until his death in 1820 whose reign was marked most notably by the loss of British control over the American colonies, 12-1/2 x 8 in. very good, evidence of folding, slight darkening at the edges.
