Tall Case Clock attributed to Thomas McCarty, Wellsburg, Virginia, early 19th century, urn and flame finials, arched and painted dial with moon phase, landscape-painted chinoiserie spandrels, British sailing ships and Italianate villa, brass eight-day movement, seconds hand and date aperture, elaborately figured and inlaid case with broken-arch pediment, fan-inlaid rosettes, bellflower and cloverleaf inlaid base, original French feet and blocking, period saddleboard, extensions at case uprights (appears to be as made), with key, 102 x 21 x 11-1/2 in.. Condition: case in excellent condition overall, patch at central top finial plinth, dial paint generally good condition with scattered abrasions, surface dirt and some losses, one loss at back of saddleboard.
