Mahogany Sideboard with China Press
Norfolk, circa 1820, poplar and yellow pine secondary, the upper case with gothic cornice over four glazed doors with gothic muntins, top center section with adjustable shelves, lower section with three drawers over four paneled doors set with highly figured mahogany, carved and reeded columns, well-carved acanthus leaf and animal paw feet, two-part construction, 95 x 76-1/2 x 25 in.. Condition: old dry varnished surface, replaced drawer pulls, two doors lacking some glazing, sideboard top with crack and some warping, some scattered chips to turned elements, scattered veneer patches and repairs, one door with green paint abrasions, interior formerly with drink turnstile now lacking, cracks and repairs to feet (two with possible patches), other scattered surface flaws and minor repairs.
