Walnut Open-Arm Chair British, mid-18th century, leaf-carved splat centering a heart and seaweed inlaid panel, scrolled arms terminating in eagle heads, shell-carved knees and ball-and-claw feet, blue damask upholstered slip seat, 39-1/4 in.. Provenance: Private Collection, Wilson, North Carolina break and repair at one arm terminal, crack and repair at a joint of crest rail to stiles, later blocking to seat frame, minor patch at one rear foot, some cracks and repairs at joint of arms to rear stiles, one knee return replaced, minor patches with color retouch at tops of arm supports, old slip seat possibly replaced
