Mahogany and Dolphin-Figural Breakfast Table
New York, possibly Deming & Bulkley, circa 1820s, highly figured mahogany top with two elliptical drop leaves, skirt set with two false drawer fronts, rosewood banding and original brass pulls, leaf-carved pedestal base set on dolphin-form legs on brass casters, pedestal base and legs with original finish, interior of one skirt with period chalk signature "M. Maison", 31-1/2 x 25 x 38-3/4 in., opens to 49 in., scattered minor surface wear and finish losses, minor repairs at pedestal base with some cracks at lamination and some possible later plugged screws, early dry varnished surface with some alligatoring, wear and minor losses at feet, casters replaced.
