probably Maryland, 1760-1780, with removable blind fret carved cornice with swan's neck pediment with carved rosettes centering a possibly original carved urn finial, upper case with two finely figured mahogany doors opening to adjustable shelved interior, set with four dovetailed drawers and eight cubby holes, lower section with fitted desk interior, over four long drawers, on ogee bracket feet, yellow pine, white cedar, poplar, and red cedar? secondary, 103 x 43 x 22-1/2 in. - Provenance: Private Georgia Collection

probably original brasses, original scrolled pediment and possibly original finial, pierced fretwork in the pediment and plinth are replacements, cracks and checking to upper panel doors (one door with later thin bracing at back), patches to fallboard at hinges, some cracks and checking to drawer facings, feet replaced, scattered minor molding losses, veneer flaws, cracks and surface distress consistent with age and use
