Sebastian Munster (1489-1552), one of the most recognized world maps of the 16th century, a woodblock print embellished with sea monsters and windheads, first appearing in Munster's Cosmographia, initials of the engraver David Kandel appear in the lower left corner, uncolored, 12 x 16 in.; in double-sided glass in a giltwood and black frame, window at rear revealing text in Italian, some toning at the edges, center fold is evident, otherwise very good.
