Mississipi sic by Guillaume Delisle (1675-1726)
this is the Covens and Mortier 1742 reprint of Delisle's famous 1718 Louisiana map, hand-colored in outline, it details the French possession of Louisiana, when first published, it was the first detailed map of the Gulf region and the Mississippi, also showing the explorations of De Soto, etc., 18-7/8 x 24-1/2 in., tiny amount of foxing and toning otherwise very good, evidence of center fold.
