Bowen, 1748 Bowen (1694-1767), important early map of colonial Georgia, Cumming #267, hand-colored, this map first appeared in John Harris' Navigantium in the 1744-48 edition, it is notable for its descriptive notes concerning coastal settlements, various Indian tribes and the major trading routes, 14-7/8 x 18-7/8 in.; in a decorative black and gilt wood frame, archival glass, evidence of folding, some toning, but nice, bright hand-coloring, very good.
