brown glazed face jug, applied facial features, including pointed nose with small nostrils, pierced eyes inset in red paint embellished eyelids, wide open mouth with thick red paint embellished lips and broken china teeth, tiny ears, incised “3” below straight spout, probably Brown Pottery, 6-1/4 in.. Condition: glaze voids and anomalies as made, surface loss and abrasions, chips to ears, one eyebrow, lip, nose, several to rim, missing two teeth and strap handle, base edge chips and wear, residue to top of jug.
