Moore County, NC, early to mid 1800s, possibly attributed to Edward Harper, percussion fullstock, 44-1/2 in. octagonal barrel, 2-3/4 in. single screw pointed barrel tang, 3/8 in. bore, dovetail blade front sight, split rear sight, "W.T. HOWELL & Co. / WARRANTED" on lock plate with engraving, double set triggers, brass engraved Bear Creek style lock bolt side plate, Bear Creek style iron trigger guard, octagonal brass ramrod guides, iron plate to top of stock, cap box bore in buttstock, 60 in. overall

Note: This rifle has a trigger guard and side plate similar to those found on known Edward Harper rifles, the stock and side plate on this rifle are similar to known B.L. Sanders, and Edmund Williamson examples, see North Carolina Schools of Longrifles, William Ivey and Kenneth Orr, the Bear Creek School makers, pgs. 40 - 46.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
