attributed to Thomas Chandler or Collin Rhodes, possibly Phoenix Factory, Edgefield District, South Carolina, mid-19th century, alkaline glaze, swag and rosette decoration around shoulder in oxide and kaolin slip, two applied lug handles, ridged neck, 16-3/4 in.. Condition: glaze voids and anomalies as made, 3 in. chip under one handle, three chips 1/2 in. to 2 in. to other handle, loss and wear to areas of slip, minor base edge chips and wear.
