British, 18th century, pierced and scrolled crest set with carved and gilt appliques, scrolled and incised carved ears and base, old distressed mirror plate, 39 x 22 in.
lacking ornament at top, breaks to applied scrolls at pediment with later gold paint, some repairs and distress at ears (one lower ear and base restored), distressed mirror plate probably original (not removed for exam), other typical veneer cracks and checking, paint retouch to gilding
