circa 1740, the arms of Craigie of Glendoick, the shield with three gilt crescents on blue and black ground, divided by a white chevron, surmounted with helmet and surrounded by scrolling leaves, gilt fleur de lis border, the rim with foliate sprays and the crest of cornucopia with motto "Honeste Vivo", 8-7/8 in.
Note: "The Craigies of Glendoick are related to those of Kilgraston and Dumbarrie in Fife. A number of members of this family served in the East India Company during the eighteenth and early nineteenth century, but it is not clear for whom this was made.
The heiress of John Craigie of Dumbarrie (a Lord Justiciary of Scotland), Anne, married Charles Halkett, a colonel in the Dutch service and Governor of Namur."
