circa 1735, centered with the arms of Bucknell, having two red chevrons amongst three bucks' heads, top of rim with buck's head and foliate sprays, gilt highlights throughout, 8-7/8 in.
Note: "The family of Bucknall or Bucknell came originally from Crowcome in Somerset while an Irish branch bore the same arms. The service may have been made for the Rt. Hon. Col. Charles Bucknall, who was living at this time in Ireland, and whose daughter Frances married the Rev'd Samuel Lindsey of Turin Castle.
Another branch of the family lived at Watford in Hertfordshire, of whom there is an account in vol. i of The History and Antiquities of the County of Hertford by Robert Clutterbuck, London, 1815-1827."
