Drawings [Line of Screammage] (titled on story board drawings "Football Zero"), 1956, the near complete set of story board drawings including title page, series 1-121, lacking 2 sheets, story by Carl Meyer and Jack Mercer, director, Seymour Kneitel, animation by Myron Waldman and Larry Sullivan, produced by Famous Studios with King Features Syndicate, Inc., released by Paramount (later the character was sold to Harvy Films Inc.), crayon, graphite and bodycolor on paper, 8-1/2 x 11 in.; unframed,. Condition: toning, handling creases and grime, pin holes, small tears with losses at edges, unmounted. Notes: Billy is rejected by the football team because he's too little to play. While looking at comic books at a news-stand, Billy is greeted by Casper the Friendly Ghost. Casper sets out to encourage Billy not to give up. Casper then starts tutoring Little Billy on how to play football eventually helping him to gain confidence and respect on the field. A particularly well-drawn segment is the scene with a hen in a henhouse. Segments not included in the feature but found in the story boards involve broken field running in which the tires roll down a hill and onto a train track with an oncoming train. Casper spooks the train away and saves the day (45-60).; Please Note: Brunk Auctions provides condition reports as a courtesy to our clients and assumes no liability for any error or omission.
