British or Italian, late 18th century, boldly carved with leaf, fruit, twisted ribbon decoration, acanthus leaf and shield sight edge, interior 35-1/2 x 46-3/4 in. (rabbet), exterior 65-1/2 x 54-1/2 in., depth 7-1/2 in., very good condition, probably original surface and size, sight edge profile a later addition, scattered minor losses and repairs to gilding and carved elements with minor paint retouch. Notes: Formerly housed the Bronzino Workshop painting [Eleonora di Toledo.].
