Rare complete collection of The New York Historical Society Edition of Audubon's Fifty Best Watercolors, 2006, edition 17/200, Part I and II, with blind stamps of New York Historical Society and Oppenheimer Editions, LLC., stamped verso and signed by Louise Mirrer, President of the New York Historical Society, accompanied by Certificate of Authenticity and booklets, faithful archival watercolor facsimiles on rag watercolor paper, sheets various sizes true to originals, each within individual folders; two cloth covered clamshell portfolios, original logo wrappers, 41 x 27-5/8 x 2-1/2 in.

Note: This exquisite, high quality, two portfolio set represents the best of the watercolor sketches Audubon's widow, Lucy Bakewell Audubon sold to the New York Historical Society in 1863. They include some that were not engraved for the The Birds of America in 1827 through 1838.
