Chippendale Carved Mahogany Dining Chairs
British and four American, late 18th century, walnut and mahogany, all of nearly identical designs with serpentine crests, pierce-carved splats with volutes, slip seats and square legs, 37-1/2 in.. Condition: all of nearly identical designs with slight variations in form and construction, all of the period, three with period slip seats (matching numbers), other slip seats modern replacements, some with replaced seat blocking, scattered cracks and repairs at crest rails, some joints repinned, scattered cracks and repairs at splats.
