Desk and Bookcase signed "C.A. Webb" and is attributed to Memphis Tennessee cabinetmaker calvin Webb.  Nathan Harsh and Derita Williams record Calvin Webb as a cabinetmaker in Henderson County, working circa 1850 ([The Art and Mystery of Tennessee Furniture, p. 320]), upper case with paneled doors and fitted with three shelves and two dovetailed drawers, lower case with butler's desk over three long drawers, 86-1/2 x 42-1/2 x 23-1/2 in. restored, upper case with rebuilding to doors and cornice, hinges and bed molding replaced, lower case with three replaced long drawers, other restorations and repairs throughout with some sun fading and finish distress
