Boston, late 18th century, figured mahogany throughout, fitted desk interior with three carved shells, eight small drawers, two document drawers, prospect door opening to two additional drawers, over four blocked long drawers set with large bat wing brasses, on bracket feet, dovetailed drawers with white pine secondary, 42-1/2 x 42 x 24 in.
good integrity overall, brasses replaced, strip patch at hinges on interior board, some warping and minor crack to fall board, cracks and abrasions to top and case sides, original feet and most blocking with some patches and repairs, including four replaced side spurs, one rear facing pieced approximately 3 inches, other rear facing with repair with plugged screws
