folio-size printed document announcing the abolition of the monarchy and the beheading of King Charles I, London: printed for Edward Husband, March 19, 1648, Charles I was proclaimed King by the Scots, but in England the present Act was passed immediately to abolish the monarchy and disallow any proclamation of a successor, 19-1/2 x 11 in.; black and gilt frame measuring 31-3/4 x 24-1/2 in., very good with evidence of folds, part of the margin has been excised, not affecting the text, some foxing in the lower half.
