Qing dynasty or earlier, extensively appliquéd and embroidered, with couched gold thread on yellow silk, borders at collar and sleeves with appliqué dragons, cranes and waves, back of robe completely embroidered with overall netting of couched gold thread, centered with cosmic diagram surrounded by phoenixes and dragons, medallions with cockerel and hare symbols at shoulders, later course linen lining, approximately 45 x 67 in.; accompanying lot is an 1985 appraisal from Vallen Galleries, Wilton, Connecticut, reads "Kang Hsi Reign (1662-1723)" and indicates a value of $5000
