Qing dynasty or earlier, multiple frontal and profile views of four clawed dragons brocaded in red, blue, yellow, silver and gold threads over [lishui] border, on tawny gold silk satin ground, later blue fabric lining, 51 in., lot accompanied with 2004 insurance appraisal that reads, "The four clawed eight dragon robes preceding the Chien Lung codification in 1760 were known as MING dragon robes, Yung Cheng Reign (1723-1736)"
