(German/American, 1886-1953)important art deco panel "The Falconer", executed by Ormos & Bardosky, 1924, designed for the Alamac Hotel, New York, brass, copper, nickel, zinc, and painted iron, in the medieval taste, depicting a falconer and their dog in a stylized landscape, with hardware for hanging, 54-1/2 x 47-1/2 in. - Note: This impressive panel was designed by Winold Reiss for the medieval themed grille room of the Alamac Hotel in New York. Period images of the panel installed in the grille room can be seen at winoldreiss.org and in the Winold Reiss photo collections at the Library of Congress. A similar metalwork panel sold April 26, 2010, at Shannon's, Milford, Connecticut, for $21,600. - Provenance: Delorenzo, New York, purchased 1988 (with copy of receipt); Private Collection, Brentwood, Tennessee

some surface distress with possible polish wear and areas of color variation, some light wear to high spots including falcon's breast, other minor surface flaws, some scratches and blacking losses to falconer's arm, small dents to copper hand, slight lifting of hand (likely as made)
