partially-printed document dated August 31, 1897 on Executive Mansion stationery, authorizing the Secretary of State to "cause a Seal of the United States," a sympathy letter to the Queen of Spain for the death of her daughter, with contemporary notations on the verso, 10-1/8 x 8 in. (folded), very good condition; McKinley's signature on an Executive Mansion card, 2-3/4 x 4-1/2 in., very good condition; and [Souvenir Program of the Inaugural Ceremonies], Washington, D.C., 1987, a 36-page booklet, string-tied, for McKinley's inauguration, 10-1/8 x 5-3/4 in., slight foxing to the cover otherwise very good condition; Provenance: Property from the Duke Family Collection

Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
