Lynchburg area, attributed to Samson Diuguid,ÿcirca 1810-1830, in walnut and mahogany with yellow pine secondary, upper case with molded cornice over two twelve paned glazed doors, adjustable shelved interior, lower case with fitted desk interior over three long drawers, on tall straight bracket feet, 93 x 45 x 22 in.
Provenance: Accompanied by notecard recording history in the Henry and Herbert Thompson family of Ivy Hill; Sandra Crowther Antiques, Lynchburg, Virginia; Private Collection, Asheville, North Carolina Note:Cabinetmaker Sampson Diuguid was active in Lynchburg Virginia during the early years of the 19th century, and his account books have survived to help document his work.
