probably Petersburg, late 18th century, pierced splats and column supports, apron with large medallions, square tapered legs, 33-3/4 x 29-1/8 x 27-1/2 in.
Provenance: Bequeathed to the Thomas Jefferson Foundation by Lindsay Hay in 1993; Property deaccessioned by the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, Inc. These objects were never owned by Thomas Jefferson. They are not directly related to Thomas Jefferson or Monticello itself, and therefore fall outside the Foundation’s collections scope. Proceeds will be used to benefit the conservation and acquisitions fund.

Available payment options
Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.

likely converted from a chamber pot chair, now fitter with later seat and bottom board, feet ended out 2 in., upper legs with breaks and some repairs but stable, lower front leg with repair to break, proper right splat with resecured with later glue at shoe and with small loss at bottom, splats with repairs to minor breaks, old but later surface with typical wear and distress
