late 18th century, attributed to southwest Virginia, stepped cornice, upper case with paneled doors and inset quarter column stiles, lower case with slant front door, fitted amphitheater interior with serpentine drawers, shaped pigeon hole dividers, and hidden drawers, four lower graduated drawers, tall French bracket feet, pegged and dovetailed construction throughout, yellow pine secondary wood, 89 x 42 x 22-1/2 in.
proper right corner of cornice with two small strips of later molding, upper case with two patch repairs along proper right front stile, lower case with small molding replacement along upper proper left rear corner, old interior ink stains, appears to retain original brasses, proper left return with a thin crack, minor separations to proper right return, old insect damage (not active), scattered surface marks and abrasions, other imperfections typical from age and use
Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
