late 19th/early 20th century, rearing horse with open mouth, glass eyes, painted shaped saddle and bridle, set on a modern stand, 53 x 46 x 11 in., multiple paint histories with losses, cleaned-down areas and some retouch, replaced tail, early metal brace at one hoof and knee, scattered cracks including some distress especially at laminations, wear to ears (one patched).
