Boston, possibly shop of John and/or Thomas Seymour, 1800-1815, each table with fold over top with banded and inlaid front edge over serpentine skirt with exceptional flame birch veneers, turned and reeded legs with lightwood panels at top, matching flame birch side panels, 30 x 37 x 17-3/4 in.
Provenance: Both tables with partial labels "Hepplewhite, Satinwood, Inlaid. Very valuable examples. Purchased in 1908 from M.C. Boyd, Wiscasset. They had been in her family for generations and I had always admired them in her home. Property of Warren D. both survive in an exceptional state of preservation, finish distress and scratches to tops, otherwise typical veneer cracks and checking to skirts, other very minor flaws
