British, 18th century, rich, finely grained mahogany throughout in mellow brown color, highly figured single board molded top above an elaborately fitted drawer with ratcheted mirror, lidded compartments and dividers, above three long drawers,ÿdovetailed drawers with oak linings and gilt brass bail pulls, on bracket feet, finely constructed overall, 33-1/4 x 36-3/4 x 21-1/4 in.

Condition

excellent condition overall, in a rich mellow brown surface, typical cracks and checking to figured mahogany including at top and drawer facings, minor cracks to drawer facings, two inch patch and repair at top at front molding, minor patch at one rear corner of top, original feet and most blocking, front left foot with minor break and repair at one facing, typical scattered repairs to veneer banding at drawer dividers, upper drawer fittings with expected shrinkage cracks to baize lined writing surface, minor losses and distress at some dividers, probably original brasses (no plugged holes, some posts have been reset, possibly recastings), other minor sun fading, surface, and veneer flaws, other typical wear
