American, attributed to Wethersfield area, 18th century, molded overhung top over four dovetailed drawers, central drawer with fan carving, deeply scalloped front and side skirts, cabriole legs with pad feet, 32-1/2 x 34 x 23-1/2 in.; purchased by Mary Adelaide Scott Pierrepont in the 1930s; by descent in the family
Condition
good condition overall, brasses replaced, several knee returns replaced and one missing, feet and ankles intact, water spotting and stains to top, underside with traces of early red paint, other typical minor cracks and surface wear
