Letter, 1881
matted together with a carte de visite, letter on Mexican Southern Railroad Company letterhead dated Nov. 7, 1881, in a secretarial hand and signed "U. S. Grant," towards the end of his life, Grant invested in the Mexican Southern Railway with plans to build a railroad from Oaxaca to Mexico City, this letter details a meeting with Jacob Shepherd, 10-1/2 x 8 in., toned but near fine; with carte de visite, 3-3/8 x 2-1/4 in., very good .
