Inkstone Chinese, 19th century and later: rectangular covered box painted in the Wucai palette with dragons and phoenix among flames and clouds, cover with handle of opposing lion heads, unglazed base with recessed rectangular section, Wanli reign mark in underglaze blue, 4-1/2 x 6-7/8 in., [repair to corner of base at top lip, chip to inside rim of cover, firing flaws as made, possible fang loss on one side;] rectangular covered inkstone, cover with two five-toed dragons chasing the elusive pearl, iron red, green and blue, stylized clouds, base with two shaped wells within white bisque frame with stylized clouds and waves over a stormy sea, six-character Wanli mark in underglaze blue, 1-1/2 x 6-1/4 in. .
