Steins and a Small Stoneware Tankard
Germany, 18th century, both with straight sides with handles, horizontal molding on sides enclose wide bands of incised stylized floral decoration on cobalt-blue ground with GR medallion opposite handle, both with number "4" incised, 6-1/4 in., one with a crack through bottom, chip in one side, crack where top of handle attaches to body, other anomalies as made, and a small stoneware tankard, Germany, probably 19th century, with hinged pewter cover and shell-shaped thumbpiece, featuring on the side an incised prancing horse surrounded by stylized flower medallions filled with cobalt-blue, initials "AWI" engraved on cover with date "1780" scrawled below initials in later hand, 6 in. overall, small crack at top of handle attachment, repairs to thumbpiece and hinge, kiln kiss on body of horse, other anomalies as made .
