Two naive watercolors: Friends (Quaker) Meeting in The Barn, 1865, signed and dated lower right "By J. Cruickshank Smith / 1865", inscriptions in lower area with names of characters and other descriptions, watercolor and pencil on paper, image 7-3/8 x 9-5/8 in.; black wood frame, 11-3/4 x 13-3/4 x 5/8 in.; interior scene with figures and dog, story inscribed in upper margin "J.B.S. Makes up his mind to spend part of the sum-mer with the Doctor and borrows Debbys [sic] travelling trunk to put up a few thing:", lower margin inscribed "Don't be Scared!", unsigned, watercolor and pencil on paper, sight 7-1/2 x 9-1/2 in.; black wood frame, 11 x 13 x 5/8 in.
