Craven jug, (Randolph and Moore Counties, North Carolina, 1827-1895), brown to light tan with salt glaze, thick ridged strap handle from shoulder to neck, collared rim, stamped "J.D. Craven" near base of handle, later applied paint decoration to entire piece with tablature and lyrics to "Little Brown Jug" song at one side, floral and horseshoe decoration to other, ring and geometric design to neck, 12-1/4 in., [glaze chips at rim, firing cracks to handle, neck, and shoulder, kiln debris, minor chips and wear to base edge]; Michael Ball stoneware jar, (Catawba Valley, North Carolina, 2000's), with brownish green runny alkaline glaze, ovoid form, flared rim, aubergine and metallic glaze runs from shoulder down body, "MB" stamped under applied lug handle, 9-1/4 in., [1 in. rim chip, ground base and base edge],.
