probably American, mid 19th to early 20th, some elements possibly earlier, one pair of green and dark brown silk velvet with appliqué design of Chinese inspired medallions, flowers, butterflies, and stylized wave motif in green velvet and gilt thread; bands of green and yellow brown silk tasseled braid at upper and lower registers; green and brown gimp and yellow brown fringe trim at inner edge of each panel, lining of yellow brown silk abstract figured weave; interlining of off white wool flannel, brass curtain hooks at upper edge of each panel, 110-1/2 x 44-3/4 x 3/8 in.; single tieback of dark green silk and gilt thread twisted rope with a large gilt thread net embellished tassel at each end, 2-3/4 x 181 in.; pair of panels (possibly portieres) of dark yellow green silk velvet, yellow green silk fringed braid with tufts along inner and lower edge of each panel, lower decorative band with silk braid and cord trellis with tassel drops, lining of deep yellow silk satin, large silver tone metal hooks stitched along upper reverse edge of each panel, two deep yellow silk pull cords with silk thread wrapped wooden tassels, threaded through metal rings, silk, metal wood, approx. 45 x 119 in.
