"Orvis Impregnated/Rocky Mountain Spinning", serial number 41270; and "Orvis Impregnated/Rocky Mountain/6-1/2' - 3-1/4 oz/H.D.G. (6), serial number 44163; housed in wooden case with brass and leather detail, green felt lining, 27-3/4 x 5 x 4 in. overall

Note: According to our consignor, this boxed flyrod set was made for Conrad Nicholas "Nicky" Hilton, Jr., son of the famous hotel magnate. The following statement coming from our consignor: 

"Back in the ‘60’s my folks owned and operated Chilanko Lodge, a hunting and fishing lodge in the Chilcotin region of British Columbia.  My Dad flew guests out to remote lakes and rivers in a float plane.  Nick Hilton would visit with friends each summer.  The last summer Mr. Hilton visited the lodge (1968) he gave the Orvis fishing rod set in its box to my Dad.  The rods were new (I think only used on that trip) and the nameplate was not yet attached." 

Condition

little or no appreciable wear of note, one cork handle with light rubbing; felt lining of box has mild discoloration, metal plaque is unengraved
