18th century, first in maple and ash with well turned finials, sausage turned rear stiles, scrolled hand holds and turned front stretchers; second in maple and oak with blanket rail crest, turned finials, baluster turned arm supports; larger 45-1/2 in. high - Provenance: Accompanied by descriptions from time of purchase with prices of $1,900 and $1,750 respectively. first with replaced woven seat (rolled paper), feet possibly ended out, repinning at arm attachments, break and repair at one finial, later pinning and nails at top slat (color and material difference to top slat but possibly original); second with legs ended out, some breaks to rush seat, finish wear and fading with some water spotting
