(Randolph County, North Carolina, 1832-1922) mottled salt glaze to both jugs, one jug with large blue green kiln drip to lower back side, incised four line decoration to necks, straight spouts with collared rims, applied ridged strap handles, slightly visible impressed "JM HAYS" at shoulders to both jars, 7-3/4 in. and 8 in.

glaze voids and anomalies as made, jug with blue kiln drip has surface anomalies as made due to kiln debris, other clay body anomalies and base edge wear, smaller jug with 1 in. clay body loss at side, firing separation at handle as made, thick residue in interior, bae edge wear and chips,
