over six handwritten pages to "Bettie" with a half page addressed to "Nan", on lined paper, complete with lines of poetry, sweet reminisces, and accounts of the war, the letter from Adams Run containing: "...I was glad to meet up with my Spartanburg Boys..."; a humorous account of friendly fire on some Abbeville men that he mistook for "yankees"; mention of locations "Jehossa [sic] Island" and "Mosquito Creek"; the other letter containing: "...our forces & the yanks have been fighting for four days at Fredricks Burg [sic]..."; "yankees lost a great many"; and "I have heard the cannon nearly all day", folded to 12 x 7-1/2 in.; accompanied by copies of relevant service records for Ward

good overall, light fading and creasing, thin areas or minor loss at fold intersections, some staining, archivally protected in plastic 

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
