Pringle, New York: The Knickerbocker Press, 1899, Howes P-620, John Julius Pringle (Charleston, SC, 1824-1901), a legend snipe hunter, this is the rarest work on snipe hunting, three copies have been available at auction (1993, 2001, 2015) and appear rarely in the trade, in original blue cloth with gilt lettering on the spine, with several black and white plates, top edge gilt, 8-3/8 x 5-3/4 in. ownership inscription on the front free endpaper, small amount of wear to the extremities, top corners slightly bumped, slight splits in the front and back gutters otherwise very good.
