(closed).; Note: Handwritten notes inside case refer to the parents of four star General Joseph Warren "Vinegar Joe" Stilwell--one handwritten note inscribed "Joseph Peene Sr./father of Mary A. Stilwell; another handwritten note inscribed in pen "Joseph Warren Stilwell".  General Stilwell was born in 1883.  It is possible that this is an image of either General Stilwell, or of his father, Dr. Benjamin Stilwell, as a young boy.; Provenance: Property from a Private Durham, North Carolina Estate
