Note: The Sketch Book of War, published after the war in 1866, contains ten photographic plates of Gettysburg, eight of which are by O'Sullivan. Image no. 36 from this anthology, titled A Harvest of Death, also by O'Sullivan, is among the most well known photographs capturing the American Civil War.
