(Arden, North Carolina, 1926-1961) vase with dark green over aubergine glaze, dark pink glazed interior, cameo "Indian Campfire" and "Buffalo Hunt" scenes, signed "Stephen" in cameo at shoulder, potter at wheel mark on base from the 1950's, 6 in.; two pitches with "Westward Ho" scenes, one with blue over cream glaze, one with blue over greenish glaze, both signed "Stephen" in cameo at shoulder, smaller one dated "1959", both with "Longpine" marks on base, 6-1/8 in. and 5 in. - Provenance: From the Estate of the Late Jim VanStory, Weaverville, North Carolina
glaze voids and anomalies as made, 1/4 in. chip to base edge of vase, firing separations to both handles as made, 1-1/4 in. hairline to neck of small pitcher through covered wagon, some dirt on blue surfaces, otherwise good condition
Condition
Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
