(Thomas Ritchie, Lincoln County, North Carolina, 1825-1909) canning jar with green alkaline glaze, stamped "TR" and "1/2" on shoulder, three incised line at neck, flared rim, lid shelf, 9 in.; jug with runny green alkaline glaze, strap handle, curved neck, collared rim, attributed to Thomas Ritchie, 9-1/4 in.; (James Franklin Seagle, Lincoln County, North Carolina, b.1829 d.1892) preserve jar, olive alkaline green glaze, ovoid form, stamped "JFS" and "1", ringed neck flared rim, 11 in.

Condition
glaze voids and anomalies as made, minor surface abrasions, miniscule firing hairline at neck of jug as made, TR jar with small 1/2 in rim chip, small base edge chip, otherwise good condition, JFS jar with 1/2 in. chip to base edge, other small base edge chips, two small glaze frits to rim, apparent 4 to 5 in. professional restoration to exterior rim that does not illuminate under black light

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
