Glass Cologne Bottle English, late 19th century, flattened spherical form, uranium cased over white glass, finely ground turquoise glass bordered by maroon and gilded glass, with detailed gilded fringe, giving the appearance of Persian carpet, Englilsh silver screw cap, marks for Birmingham, partial maker and date mark, .925 fine, other marks illegible, 4-1/2 in. cap worn from much polishing, condition of bottle and its decoration good. Notes: Fond owner regards this as her 'magic carpet' bottle, with yellow background representing the sands of the Sahara.. Provenance: Creech Collection, North Carolina
